Professional SummarySteve has been appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Transport and Planning from January 2010. Prior to this Steve had studied for a PhD at UWE in the WHO Healthy Cities Collaborating Centre. His subject was: The Potential for Carfree Development in the UK. His primary (quantitative and qualitative) research was conducted online and in different parts of Britain. During the three summers of 2006 to 2008 he also cycled over 5,000 miles, visiting and studying European carfree developments and cities which have been successful in reducing car dependency. His first degree was in Economics, from Liverpool University, and he has worked in Human Resources, community development and was a parliamentary candidate in 1997.
