Professional Summary

Graham has degrees in psychology, anthropology and geography and his research experience has included studies of the motivations for transport policy change and evaluations of the effects of adopted policy on travel behaviour, the economy and the environment. Work in progress is examining:

  • social and distributional impacts of transport schemes
  • transport policy and the ageing rural population (OPeRA)
  • the implications of providing free local bus travel to people over 60
  • evaluation of the Bath Transport Package (Renaissance)
  • the potential for modal shift to cycling through enhanced rail-cycle integration and swipe-and-ride bike hire
  • implications of transport and energy technological change for rural communities
  • Cannick Heath urban extension public transport study

In addition to conducting academic research, Graham also has practical experience of the transport planning system. He has advised local authorities, developers,residents' groups, and pressure groups, and has been involved in public inquiries into park and ride and guided busway proposals.
